No Wind
By Jim Davis

Day After Day
Day After Day
We struck no breath Nor motion

As idle as a painted ship
Upon a painted ocean

Down dropped the breeze
The chute hung down
As sad as sad could be (boo hoo)
A lifeless sack that sagged aback
And brought us to our knees

We drift about
And curse the calm
As we bob amidst the wakes
We beg to see the “Charlie” shape
Have MERCY for our sakes!!

There’s only six more legs to go
Everyone is dead down wind (down down)
We all are trying to make it back
And no one ever wins

Day After Day
Day After Day
We struck no breath Nor motion

As idle as a painted ship
Upon a painted ocean
